Sir Cliff Richard is to perform in Israel
The former UK Eurovision representative will appear at the Tel Aviv Nokia Arena on 11 July. The singer first performed in Israel in 1963, and in 1969 went on to make a documentary called His land about his experiences at the country’s religious sites. More recently, in 1988, the star performed as part of Israel’s 40th anniversary celebrations.
During his career, Sir Cliff Richard has sold in excess of 260 million albums. The first time he represented the UK at Eurovision was in London, 1968, where he came second with the song Congratulations. Sir Cliff was back in the competition in 1973. Second time round, he finished in 3rd place, with the song Power to all our friends.
