Polish national broadcaster Telewizja Polska S.A. (TVP) has finally made a decision about its participation in the 2005 Eurovision Song Contest. As we learned from OGAE Poland today, no national final is planned for 2005.

Rumours were going around among the Polish fans during the last couple of weeks, saying that Poland would withdraw from the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest in Kiev. OGAE Poland informed esctoday.com that a withdrawal was considered by TVP, but that they made the final decision today not to withdraw.

In which way the Polish song for the 2005 Eurovision Song Contest will be selected is not clear yet. “We will have to wait a bit to find out how to do this,” says Piotr Klatt from TVP. “An internal selection is the most probable choice, as in the previous years Polish people did not vote for the song, but for the most popular artist taking part.

Several well-known Swedish composers are said to write songs for the Polish selection. TVP would then look out for an artist to perform one of those songs. OGAE Poland has been invited by Mr Klatt to help TVP to choose the best song.
