Lithuanian broadcaster LRT has received 60 entries for the Lithuanian Eurovision Song Contest selections. For the first time, no juries will be involved in the selection of the Lithuanian Eurovision Song Contest entry. Only the television audience will decide. On 26th February the Lithuanian national final takes place in Kaunas.

53 artists have submitted 60 songs in total. Mr Vilimas, head of the Lithuanian Eurovision Song Contest delegation, noticed that many famous artists from Lithuania decided to take a part in the selections for the 2005 Eurovision Song Contest.

Songs have been submitted by Aistė Pilvelytė, Saulės klio�as, Agnie�ka, Taja and artists with more experience such as Neringa Čere�kevičienė, Violeta Riaubi�kytė, Alanas Cho�nau, and the bands B`Avarija, Pusbroliai Aliukai ir sesutė and Road Band. Especially for the contest, Česlovas Gabalis and Eva will sing a song together.

According to Mr Vilimas, the majority of the songs are pop songs. Most of them are in English, only a few preferred to submit a song in Lithuanian. No jury or foreigners will be involved in the selection of the winning song for Kiev, only televoting will be used.

LTV will organise semifinals right after New Year. They will be aired in the Saturday TV show Lietuvos dainų de�imtukas. A maximum of 18 songs, those who received the most votes, will be participating in the Lithuanian national final to be held in Kaunas on 26th February 2005.
