Last Thursday, September 30th, Austria's only Eurovision winner so far Udo Jürgens celebrated his 70th birthday. An old compilation album of the Austrian singer was re-released on (double) CD, as part of the anniversary celebrations. The winner of the Eurovision Song Contest 1966 also recently presented his autobiography.

The album 'Aber bitte mit Sahne' ('With cream, please'), which was only available on vinyl so far, has been re-released in a special limited edition on the singers' birthday. The 2004 version of Udo's Eurovision winning song Merci chérie was added as a bonus track on this CD. 'Aber bitte mit Sahne' was issued by Ariola/BMG, the catalogue number is 82876 64683 2.

Jürgens also wrote a book called 'Der Mann mit dem Fagott' ('The man with the bassoon'), which is an autobiographical novel. In the book, he tells the story of his family since 1891, starting with his grandfather who emigrated from Germany to Russia.
