by Stefano Casellini 2,414 views

Good evening Berlin! We are live tonight from the German capital for the final of Unser Lied für Israel. Germany is choosing its representative in Tel Aviv. Who will follow the steps of Michael Schulte?

Tonight is the night for Germany. Seven hopeful entrants will perform at the Studio Berlin Adlershof to win the Golden Ticket to Israel. They are:

  • Aly Ryan – Wear your love
  • BB Thomaz – Demons
  • Linus Bruhn – Our city
  • Gregor Hägele – Let me go
  • Sisters – Sister
  • Lilly Among Clouds – Surprise
  • Makeda – The day I loved you most

Like last year, three groups will award points: the public, a Eurovision jury panel and a special appointed committee. They will all count for a third of the total vote. Hosts of the night are Barbara Schöneberger and Linda Zervakis.

The winner of Unser Lied für Israel will represent Germany in the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest in Tel Aviv.

A night full of stars

These seven acts won’t be the only good thing for Eurofans tonight. As announced at the end of January, 2010 Eurovision winner Lena will perform during the national final with a track from her new album.

She won’t be the only star, as Michael Schulte (Germany 2018), Revolverheld and Udo Lindenberg are also announced to be on stage.

Inclusive and barrier-free

This national final will also be remembered by its inclusion. German broadcaster NDR has prepared a be completely barrier-free show with subtitles, audio description and sign language. The audio version as well as the version in German Sign Language (DGS) will be available on www.eurovision.de. The sign language interpreters will also present the songs and the commentary of Peter Urban.
