LIVE: Slovenia selects for Dusseldorf

Tonight in Ljubljana, Slovenia will select its entrant for the Eurovision Song Contest. The show EMA will be contested by 10 acts, with 2 entrants going forward to a super final.


The show, presented by Klemen Slakonja, will kick off at 20.00CET.

Maestro dance group have come on dancing to Satellite, last year's Eurovision winner. The presenter Klemen Slakonja starts singing on the melody of Satellite.

The jury are introduced. It consists of Darja Svajger, Severina Vuckovic an Mojca Mavec. Darja Svajger represented Slovenia in 1995 with the song Prisluhni mi (Listen to me) , and in 1999 with the song Se tisoc let (a thousand years).
Severina Vuckovic sang at the 2006 Eurovision Song Contest in 2006 for Croatia, with Moja stikla. Mojca Mavec has commented on the Eurovisoin Song Contest in 2005, 2006 and 2007.

1. Rock Partyzani – Time For Revolution
The first song has started, Time for Revolution by Rock Partyzani . It is a catchy number with 3 men and a woman in military uniforms and two male dancers doing catwheels. Part of the song is in English, but it is mostly in Slovenian.

2. Tabu – Moje Luci
Time for song number two, Tabu with Moje luci. The female singer is dressed in leather and is accompanied by drums, guitars and a female backing singer. The song is not as catchy as the last one, and has a slightly heavy metal feel to it.

3. Nina Puslar – Bilo Lepo Bi
Now it's Nina Puslar with Bilo lepi bi. A red-haired singer wears a beige dress. The song is not particularly catchy. She has two female backing singers and drums.

4. Maja Keuc – Vanilija
It's now time for the pre-contest favourite, Maja Keuc with the song Vanilija. The singer has got long dark hair and is wearing a black evening dress. She is accompanied by female backing singers and male dancers. The song has the style of a rock ballad.

5. Feliks Langus – Disko Raj
Song number five is Disco raj by Feliks Langus. The very young singer has a guitar, drummers and backing singers. The song is catchy pop but lacks a strong chorus. Felix wears jeans, a jacket and a scarf. Another male guitarist dances with him.

6. Leeloojamais – Slovenka
Now it's time for Leeloojamais with the song Slovenka. The lead singer of the band has short blonde hair and is wearing a short blue dress and yellow high heels. The vocals are average and the song is not particularly catchy.

7. April – Ladadidej
Song number seven is Ladadidej by April. She is wearing a long gold dress and huge white glasses. Her headdress matches the dress. The song is a dance number.

8. Sylvain, Mike Vale feat. Hannah Mancini – Ti Si Tisti
The next song is Ti si tisti by Sylvain and Mike Vale featuring Hannah Mancini. Hannah is tall and wears a short blue dress. The verses are in Slovenian and chorus in English.

9. Time to time – Pravi Cas
The penultimate song of the evening is Pravi �as by the band Time to Time. Two male singers are dressed in suits, one with big glasses. There are three female backing singers and one older male keyboard player. Now the keyboard player comes on and sings with the other two. The song is a power ballad.

10. Omar Naber – Bistvo Skrito Je Ocem
Now it's the last song of the evening, Bistvo skrito je o�em by the 2005 Slovenian Eurovision Song Contest participant Omar Naber. Omar is short and dressed in a white shirt, black jeans and basketball trainers. The song is catchy and his vocals are strong. He is accompanied by a drummer, guitarists and a keyboard player.

Superfinalists:

After watching both superfinalists performing again their songs, the televoting phase two has begun and we are awaiting of the final results. Severina gets on stage right now singing the 2006 Croatian participation Moja Stikla and the presenter follows up with a parody version of Moja Stikla titled Moj Mokasin. The voting is over. Klemen Slakonja along with Darja Svajger sing the Slovenian 1995 Eurovision entry Prisluhni mi.

The winner of EMA 2011 hence the Slovenian representative in Eurovision Song Contest 2011 is Maja Keuc with the song Vanilija.
Slovenia appears on second half of the second semi-final on May the 12th 2011 in Dusseldorf.
