The Cypriot entrant to Riga, Stelios Constantas, had his first rehearsal on the Eurovision stage in Riga this afternoon, with big delegation of friends and family on site to support him.

“I love Riga, and the stage inside the Skonto Hall is magnificent, thats how the Cypriot entrant to Riga coments after his first day of rehearsals inside the 2003 Eurovision Song Contest's venue. The Cypriots had a small incident as one of the backing vocalists was slightly injured, but it seems now the injury is very slight, so everything will continue as scheduled.

When asked wether he has a problem competing against the Greek entry, Stelios Constantas only reacted by saying he is familiar with Mando (the Greek entrant this year) and that he sees no problem in this contest between the both of them.

Marios Skordis, head of the Cypriot delegation, estimates the contest will attract high ratings among TV viewers in Cyprus: “This year there is no football match at the same time Eurovision is on, like it was in recent years, so I expect the contest to be successful in Cyprus”.
