We are heading to Athens, Greece tonight for the 2017 Greek Eurovision national final, where the Greeks will select their Eurovision entry for Kyiv!

Tonight we will get to know the song that Demy will fly with to Kyiv next May. A total of 3 entries will be presented to Greek audience tonight, all produced by Dimitris Kontopoulos. The official video clips of Demy’s bidding songs were filmed in Odessa last month.

The show

The 2017 Greek final will be hosted by Antonis Loudaros and Elena Bouzali and will be aired live from ERT’s Studios in Athens.

The Greek viewers and diaspora will get the chance to see the official video clips of the 3 bidding entries (composed and produced by Dimitris Kontopoulos and penned by John Ballard and Romy Papadea).

The Greek public and 9 juries representing Greek Diaspora Associations will be responsible to determine Demy’s song for Kyiv. Representatives of  Greek communities from Belgium, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Germany, Armenia, Italy, Australia, Austria and Ukraine will partake in the voting.

The 2017 Greek Eurovision entry will be determined via a 70% public voting/ 30% diaspora jury voting deliberation.

Dimitris Kontopoulos and Fokas Eveangelinos (choreography and stage director for Demy in ESC 2017) will be present at the show tonight along with Demy.

The 2017 Cypriot representative Hovig has been invited to attend the show and will perform his Eurovision entry for the Greek viewers.

The show will be aired live at 21:00 CET (22:00 local time) on the following channels:

Demy was selected via an internal selection in order to fly the Greek flag in Kyiv. She will be backed by the Greek Eurovision Dream Team.

Greece will compete in the second half of the First Semi-final of Eurovision 2017 on 9 May. The 2017 Eurovision Song Contest is scheduled to be held on 9, 11, 13 May at the IEC in Kyiv.
