SVT, the Swedish national broadcaster has revealed the stage for the forthcoming 2016 Eurovision Song Contest.O

One of the biggest secrets and mysteries of the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest aka the stage design has been unveiled. The stage has been designed by Frida Arvidsson and Viktor Brattström who also produced the stage for the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest in Malmö.

The lighting and visual effects will play a key role in depicting the 2016 Eurovision stage, which is described as brave and powerful. The innovative lighting effects will create a myriad of optical illusions.

The stage designers are very excited with the outcome, Viktor Brattström and Frida Arvidsson  have commented:

We want to do something that makes people wonder if it’s even possible. Plans also include an innovative LED wall which allows the artists to move inside it. Normally a LED wall is a flat background wall at the very end of the stage. We have broken up the wall and made it possible for people to move inside it.- Viktor

We focused on a softer expression with no pixels and projections. We are trying to play with the room and create optical illusions. – Frida
