RTVSLO, the Slovenian national broadcaster has confirmed to esctoday.com that Slovenia will participate at the forthcoming Eurovision Song Contest in Copenhagen next May.

Last November Slovenia submitted its application to participate at the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest. RTVSLO was given a 10 extension by the EBU in order to confirm their participation in Copenhagen. The Slovenian broadcaster is yet to decide the mechanism it will use to select its 2014 Eurovision representative and entry. RTVSLO will be releasing more details regarding their 2014 Eurovision project in due course.

Last year Hannah Mancini was selected via an internal selection to represent Slovenia at the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest with her entry Straight into love.

Slovenia debuted at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1993 and is yet to win the Eurovision Song Contest. The country’s best results at the contest have been in 1995 with Darja Svajger (7th) and in 2002 with Nusa Derenda (7th).
