The Principality of Andorra will not be returning to the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 in Germany. The Andorran newspaper Diari d'Andorra reveals in an article that Andorra won't be returning to the Eurovision Song Contest next year. Andorra debuted at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2004 with Marta Roure and has participated 6 times at the contest.

As esctoday.com reported back in May, due to economical reasons Andorra will not be returning to the Eurovision Song Contest next year. The director general of RTVA, Mr. Jordi Marticella confirmed yesterday that the national Andorran broadcaster had no intention of participating at the forthcoming Eurovision Song Contest in Germany.

It seems that Andorra won't return to the Eurovision Song Contest in the near future. Mr. Marticella said: "This is a recurring project, butcurrently there is nopossibility due to economical reasons, hence there is no option to participate in the contest". He goes on to hint that this could be a permanent decision unless the board of shareholders of RTVA would decide in favour of participating, which is most unlikely to happen.

Andorra debuted at the 2004 Eurovision Song Contest, it has competed a totalof 6 times. The last time Andorra particpated in the Eurovision Song Contest was in 2009 in Moscow.
