Within one month we will know all the participants of the 49th edition of Festivali i Kenges. The popular pop – soul singer Linda Halimi is the first artist to confirm officially participation at Festivali i Kenges.

The Albanian broadcaster, RTSH, will publish next month the participants list of Festivali i Këngës, that will take place on December 23rd, 24th and 25th. The last day to submit songs for the festival is the 20th October.

Linda Halimi, the popular Kosovar pop – soul singer has to esctoday.com officially confirmed her participation for the Festivali i Këngës 49. The 21 year old singer, Linda, started singing as the leading singer of rock band Ngroba. Few years later she decided to go solo and now she is one of the most successful young Albanian singers. She has been awarded many times for her powerful voice.

This year Linda was planning to take part only in Kënga Magjike, the popular event in Albania that takes place in November, but she has been contacted by several composers about taking part in Festivali i Këngës. She entered FiK last year for the first time in a duet with the singer Erti Hizmo but unfortunately that wasn’t a big success.

"I am going to try again but this year I will be alone on stage. The song which I will enter Festivali i Këngës 49 is a sentimental ballade. Eurovision has always been my dream since when I was a child. I hope to be the country’s representative and to perform on that amazing stage", Linda told esctoday.com.

Another singer who stated in the local newspaper that she would love to represent Albania is the hugely popular ethno pop singer, Genta Ismajli. The singer hasn't confirm yet her participation.
