Molly Sterling, the singer who represented Ireland at the Eurovision Song Contest 2015, has revealed she has put her education on hold to pursue her music career.

The singer shot to fame in Ireland after winning their national final and representing the country at the Eurovision Song Contest in May with the song Playing with numbers.

She was due to take her exams next June, but will now put her main focus on her music career after a number of new opportunities came about.

Speaking to the Independent in Ireland, Molly said that this would be a great time to progress as an artist

I want to be a sponge and just improve and play, but mainly write. What I want to do a lot of is just spend time with other musicians and learn from them.

I know a lot of people would say I’m only a kid how would I know what I want to do. But I know what I want and I have the facilities there.

Molly is currently in the process of creating an EP, which will be released later this year.

Molly Sterling represented Ireland at the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 with the song Playing with numbers. Performing in the second semi-final in Vienna, she finished 12th and failed to reach the grand final.
