Norway: 2nd semi final line-up

Norway national broadcaster, NRK, has confirmed the line-up for the Melodi Grand Prix second semi final. The show takes place in Kongsvinger on 18th January 2008, the second show in the five show national selection process to choose the country's Eurovision Song Contest entry. The line-up see's the return of Crash, the 2007 third placed act. Songwriters Åge Sten Nilsen and Trond Holter, better known as Glam and Teeny from Wig Wam, see their songs competing against each other in the same semi final.

As reported by esctoday.com last month, the two musicians from Norwegian glam-rock band, Wig Wam have written songs for Melodi Grand Prix 2008. In a further twist of fate, the two songs penned by Åge Sten Nilsen and Trond Holte will compete against each other in Kongsvinger. For the second year running Trond 'Teeny' Holte has written an entry for indie band, Crash. The band qualified directly for the 2007 final with Wannabe and will be hoping to go a step further this year, and take Norway's ticket to Belgrade.

Maria Haukaas Storeng, a finalist from Norway's Idols show in 2004 will also perform in the semi final. Her debut single Breathing spent 11 weeks in the top 20 and was certified gold. Her second album is due in 2008. She will be performing the Mira Craig written entry, Hold on be strong.
