Best dressed performer(s)

  1. Sopho of Georgia
  2. D'Nash of Spain
  3. Roger Cicero of Germany
  4. Edsilia Rombley of the Netherlands
  5. Sabrina of Portugal

With30.3% of the votes, Sopho from Georgia was the clear winner of the best dressed award with her classy red evening gown. It is the second year in a row with a female artist winning the award after Kate Ryan in 2006. The two male acts that were nominated – D’Nash from Spain and Roger Cicero, both in classic white, one the most popular colours on the Eurovision Song Contest stage – finished second and third with20.5% and17.6% respectively. The two singers in this category who didn’t make it to the final – Edsilia Rombley from the Netherlands and Sabrina from Portugal finished fourth and fifth although (or maybe because?) Edsilia’s orange dress was in a similar style as Kate Ryan’s winning dress last year. They scored 16.6% and 15.1% respectively.

Worst dressed performer(s)

  1. The Ark of Sweden
  2. Verka Serduchka of Ukraine
  3. Teapacks of Israel
  4. Olivia Lewis of Malta
  5. Gerli Padar of Estonia

The Ark (30.5%) won this award only a few votes ahead of the runner-up, Verka Serduchka (29.1%) from Ukraine, who won this year’s Barbara Dex award. The top2 outifts had both a silver/glittery theme and fairly it has to be mentioned that both acts probably have chosen the uncommon outfits deliberately and didn’t want to follow some kind of fashion ideal. Teapacks of Israel, who seemed to have worn anything they found in their wardrobes (or under them), finished third with 18.5% ahead of golden girl Olivia Lewis from Malta who got 14.2%. Gerli Padar finished way behind in this poll reaching only7.8% of the votes, her rather neutral black trouser suit was probably not spectacular enough to succeed in this category. After Non-Stop from Portugal in 2006, it’s the second year in a row the award goes to a group.
