For the sixth year running MAD TV Greece organises the Love Auction where popular local stars donate their personal belongings to be auctioned for charity. Fifty seven popular Greek artists have responded to MAD TV's call, among them many Eurostars past and present.

Among the fifty seven artists who have donated their personal belongings to be auctioned in aid of the non-profit charitable organisation Arogi many Eurostars can be found this year as well. Sakis Rouvas, Michalis Chatzigiannis, Konstantinos Christoforou, Evridiki and Dimitris Korgialas, Katy Garbi, Peggy Zina, Tamta and all three finalists of next year's Greek preselection for the Eurovision Song Contest are present.

Sakis Rouvas (Greece 04 and host of the 06 contest in Athens) has donated the golden T-shirt he was wearing during his live concert last September which features on the cover of his first live DVD This is my live.
Michalis Chatzigiannis (Cyprus 98) has donated the triple platinum CDs he was awarded for his smash hit album Filoi ke echtroi
Katy Garbi (Greece 93) leads the bidding so far with a valuable ring she rarely used to take off her finger.
Evridiki (Cyprus 92, 94 and 07) has donated a fancy designer skirt.
Constantinos Christoforou (Cyprus 96, 02 and 05) has donated the gold discs for his second solo album Idiotiki parastasi.
Tamta (NF 07), known for her eccentric stylistic choices, has donated a red top hat she was wearing on stage last year.
Peggy Zina (NF 02 runner-up) has donated a Roberto Cavalli top, which she considers to be lucky as it brought her success in the early days of her career.

All three participants in the 2008 Greek final are present with Kostas Martakis in the lead with the silver, Swarowski studded chain and pendant with the 2007 New Wave Festival insignia. Kostas took part in the festival in Jurmala, Latvia, earlier this year. Chryspa follows Kostas at the moment with her gold pendant bearing the letter X and Kalomoira has donated one of her favourite characteristic hats.

Another object that is expected to attract a lot of interest is the a guitar belonging to the legendary Led Zeppelin, used to play Stairway to Heaven and Whole lotta love offered by mad.tv.

To bid for a particular item, fans have to send sms's to certain numbers, which can be found on the official auction page on mad.tv, until 15 January 2008. The lucky winners will be determined by a draw, the more sms's one sends the more chances they have to win their object of desire. Each sms costs 1 euro+VAT and all proceeds will go to the charitable foundation Arogi which supports children in need.

Thanks to Johnny Logan and Hold me now I fell in love with the Eurovision Song Contest, a love that's been going strong ever since with undiminished passion. My first memories date back to 1977 and the lyrics of Rock bottom, Dschinghis Khan and A ba ni bi are still engraved in my brain.

I joined esctoday.com in 2006 as a junior editor after being invited by Barry Viniker, I soon became Senior Editor and during the 2007 contest in Helsinki I was appointed Head of Communications. Today I hold the post of Head of Human Resources and I am proud to be working with the best editorial team in the world.
