HRT, Croatia's national broadcaster, has announced that more than 200 songs have been submitted for Dora 2008. A jury will now begin an elimination process to find the songs that will participate in the semi finals for a place as Croatia's 2008 Eurovision Song Contest representative.

Partner website, eurovision-croatia.com has already reported that entries from Angels, Maja Šuput, Kraljevi ulice, Maja Blagdan, Karma and Ivo Gamulin are likely, although many artists have ruled themselves out of the competition.

Dora has long been seen as one of the best national finals for the Eurovision Song Contest, however last year many fans thought the standard had fallen severely. Croatia missed out on qualification for the Eurovision Song Contest final in 2007.
