This week's opening act could be best described as an ethnic comedy performance… enjoy it!
There is a recap of the former Bulgarian Eurovision Song Contest entries: Lorraine (2005), Let me cry (2006) andWater (2007).
Another collection of video material… some not so good entries of EuroBGvision.
1. Svetozar Hristov – Pandemonium
This is one of the more spectacular songs in EuroBGvision – Pandemonium is a catchy pop-rock song that could actually be a chart success. The vocals are very good but the simple stage performance could be definitley improved if this song reaches the semi final.
2. New Generation – Running scared
Song number two is a dramatic rock ballad with a rather catchy hookline (even if it's rather similar to various international hits). Another entry with a very good vocal performance. Classic rock performance.
3. Angels – Memory
The two female lead singers (why is the right one wearing pyjamas on stage?) are accompanied by two dancers dressed all in white, nevertheless, the whole performance is rather static. The song is pop with a slight disco beat, partly reminding of Björk, partly reminding of Kate Bush. A bit monotone.
4. Dany Milev – Svetlinata i mraka
A blues/rock song with an interesting arrangement including three violinists and a cellist. The singeris playing the guitar; thevocals are goodbut sound too much like opera partly. In the chorus, there are some ethinc elements, which is always welcome in the Eurovision Song Contest.
5. Katina – Almost perfect
The song combines various music styles but in a rather chaotic way, which is also reflected in the stage performance. The vocals are powerful and sometimes very close to screaming. Nevertheless a rather interesting entry, even if it needs some reworking.
That's it for tonight, next Friday the third and last voting show will be held.
