The 46th edition of the Festival i Këngës will kick off tonight with the first semi final being held. Again, the winner will be the Albanian representative in the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest. A webcast will be provided.
The show
The show will be broadcast at 20:30 CET live from the Palace of Congress in Tirana, hosted by Elsa Lila & Pirro Cako.
15 entries will be presented and all the competing songs will be performed in two different versions: the first one, by the contestant and the second one, by popular Albanian singers under the form of medleys. Moreover, each version will have a different orchestration. As always, the participants in the 46th Festivali will sing live.

Albania had a strong debut in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2004 finishing 7th. The following years, the country was less succesful and came 16th in 2005 and did not make it to the final in 2006 and 2007.
