Festival i Këngës website launched

Again, the winner of the Festival i Këngës will be the Albanien representative in the 2008 Eurovisision Song Contest. It is already the 46th edition of the contest and the official website has now been launched by broadcaster RTSH.

The new website includes information on the show, who will participate, former Albanian Eurovision Song Contest participantsand also on the jury members who will decide over the winner in the final round: Agim Krajka (composer), David Tukiqi (composer), Gjergj Leka (composer), Gjergj Xhuvani (cineast), Rudina Magjistari (television presenter), Baton Haxhia (publicist) and Alban Skenderi (singer). Again, the Kenges festival will be held over three shows including the two semi finals and a grand final on 14th, 15th and 16th December respectively, which means that the selection will kick off this on Friday. 30 music acts will take part in the two heats:

Albania had a strong debut in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2004 finishing 7th. THe following years, the country was less succesful and came 16th in 2005 and did not make it to the final in 2006 and 2007.
