JESC 2007: A spectacular opening show

by Stella Floras 90 views

All the participants of this years Junior Euorvision got on stage today to rehearse One World, the song especially made for the opening of the fifth edition of the contest to be held tomorrow in Rotterdam.

All lead singers from the 17 delegations participating this year gave an amazing performance of One World on the Ahoy Arena stage today. Underneath an impressive rain screen above , the children took the stage and gave an energetic performance. The stage is filled with children singers and dancers and the hosts descend on stage in a giant umbrella. In fact, there will be quite a lot of umbrellas around as there is one especially made depicting the flag of each participating country.

Thanks to Johnny Logan and Hold me now I fell in love with the Eurovision Song Contest, a love that's been going strong ever since with undiminished passion. My first memories date back to 1977 and the lyrics of Rock bottom, Dschinghis Khan and A ba ni bi are still engraved in my brain.

I joined esctoday.com in 2006 as a junior editor after being invited by Barry Viniker, I soon became Senior Editor and during the 2007 contest in Helsinki I was appointed Head of Communications. Today I hold the post of Head of Human Resources and I am proud to be working with the best editorial team in the world.
