The first news about the songs and composers for Norway's 2008 Melodi Grand Prix have been announced. The highly talented and popular Mira Craig has written an entry called Hold on be strong, although esctoday.com believes she will not perform the entry. Wig Wam band members Glam and Teeny both have songs in the competition as does former Norway representative Jan Groth, who was part of Just 4 Fun, Norway's 1991 entry.
It seems Wig Wam are at war, as both lead singer, Glam and band member, Teeny, both have songs in the competition. The band are set to record a new album later in 2008, but for this year's competition, friendships are going out the window.
Glam, known also as Åge Sten-Nilsen has a song called Would you spend the night with me. He was co-writer of his solo entry, Always will in 1998 with Kyrre Fritzner and co-writer of Wig Wam's first Melodi Grand Prix entry Crazy things which came third in 2004. Teeny wrote the band's winning song, In my dreams, in 2005, was a fellow co-writer of Crazy things and wrote the Crash entry Wannabe that finished in third place in 2007. esctoday.com can reveal that Teeny's song is called Get up.
Former international boyband A1 member, Christian Ingebrigtsen has written a song with Eivind Rølles (former Munroes band member) called Eastern wind. Jan Groth has teamed up with former five-time Norway representative at the Eurovision Song Contest, Svein Gundersen with the song, Hold on.
