Rita Guerra is celebrating her 25th anniversary as a singer today. The organised celebrations will include an exclusive dinner-party and a private concert where she will sing many of her best-known songs.

A sumptuous party and an exclusive concert will take place today to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Rita Guerra's careeras a singer. According to her blog, Rita says that "the night of 4 december will be very special for her". You can join in the celebrations yourself by watching the concert online herefrom 23.30 CET.

Rita Guerra started her career as a singer back in 1982 when she was fifteen. At the age of 22 she released her first album. In 1995, the album Independence day was released, containing songs only in English. The 1990's also saw Rita take part in a show called As canções do século (The songs of the century) alongside two other singers. This showrevisited many famous songsin the history of Portuguese music andwas a huge success.

From Disney to Eurovision
Ritawas invited byDisney to sing the main tracks of animated films suchas Lion King and The Little Mermaid. Shewasalso the main singer at many musical shows produced by Casino do Estoril, the biggest casino in Europe.In 2003, RTP decided to hold an internal selection and chose Rita Guerra to represent Portugal at the Eurovision Song Contest. In Riga she sang "Deixa-me sonhar" and, despite being considered a top ten favourite, ranked only 22nd.Later in 2004, Rita ended up marrying the producer ofher Eurovision entry, Pauo Martins.

Over the last two years Rita Guerra has found renewed success launching two albums. In 2005, Rita reached double paltinum and the latest Sentimento is already gold. She also worked in a duet with former Boyzone memberRonan Keating singing All over again.
