Christine Guldbrandsen has been cast in the role of Cosette in the classic musical Les Miserables to be produced by Den National Scene in Bergen. The musical premieres on 6 September 2008. Two more Norwegian Eurostars, Guri Schanke and Britt Synnøve Johansen, have had parts in the same play in the past.

From September to December 2008, the 2006 Norwegian Eurovision Song Contest ambassadress will be debuting on a theatre stage in the role of Cosette in Les Miserables, produced by Alain Boubil and Claude-Michel Schönberg. Christine Guldbrandsen is very excited about this project and she is really looking forward to making her first steps on a theatre stage.

Les miserables, based on the novel by Victor Hugo, is one of the theatre's biggest productions. Christine is not the first Norwegian Eurostar to be part of the particular play, Guri Schanke played the role of Eponine in the Oslo production in 1988, and Britt Synnøve Johansen (Norway 1989) played the same part in a regional production back in 2004.

A very special thank you to Ronny Gunvorsson Berg for his contribution to the article.

Thanks to Johnny Logan and Hold me now I fell in love with the Eurovision Song Contest, a love that's been going strong ever since with undiminished passion. My first memories date back to 1977 and the lyrics of Rock bottom, Dschinghis Khan and A ba ni bi are still engraved in my brain. I joined esctoday.com in 2006 as a junior editor after being invited by Barry Viniker, I soon became Senior Editor and during the 2007 contest in Helsinki I was appointed Head of Communications. Today I hold the post of Head of Human Resources and I am proud to be working with the best editorial team in the world.
