Serbia: Bojana to Vienna!

Tonight, the Serbian national final Odbrojavanje za beč aired on the national broadcaster RTS as the country selected their entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2014.

The national final saw Aleksa Jelić, Danica Krstić and Bojana Stamenov perform their songs, with a jury and public vote deciding who would represent the country in Vienna.

Once those scores were combined, Bojana Stamenov was announced the winner and will therefore represent Serbia at the Eurovision Song Contest in May.

She will perform her song Ceo eve je mom in Vienna, which was written by Vladimir Graić. He was the composer of the Eurovision Song Contest 2007 winning entry, Molitva.

Serbia didn’t participate at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2014, being forced to withdraw from the contest due to financial problems.

They last participated in the contest in 2013 when Moje 3 achieved the country’s worst result to date, finishing 11th in their semi-final and failing to qualify for the grand final.
