This Friday, 15th November, was the deadline for submission of entries for Malta Song for Europe 2003. 238 songs were submitted, which is yet another record-breaker for Malta. 224 songs were submitted last year.

The first panel of juries, consisting of 15 Maltese personalities coming from the Maltese music scene/industry, will pick the top 50 songs. This will take place on the 20th and 21st November 2002.

The list of the first 50 songs making it to the second phase will be announced on Saturday 23rd November 2002 at 11:00a.m. at the Radissons SAS Hotel.

The second phase, where the 50 songs will be cut down to 24, will take place on 16th December. Venue to be confirmed at a later stage.

When contacted by OGAE MALTA, the chairman of the newly-set Maltasong, said that there are still some possibilities of shifting the Malta Song for Europe's final from the usual, Mediterranean Conference Centre. Venue to be announced shortly.
