UPD Lithuania: Call for songs

LRT, the Lithuanian broadcaster has begun the quest for the country's representative in the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest. Jonas Vilimas, the Head of the Lithuanian Delegation promises stricter rules for this year's preselection and has announced that the country's final will be held in February.

All interested parties should submit their entries to LRT by 10th December at 22.00 (CET+1) to the following address: Eurovizijai, Konarskio g. 49, LT – 03123 Vilnius. More information can be obtained here.

It has not yet been specified whether LRT will choose to proceed with a multiple semi final format like last year or would opt for a simpler one.

UPDATE
Jonas Vilimas, Head of the Lithuanian Delegation promised stricter rules for the 2008 preselection. Those who have been following national finals may remember that last year some of the most popular Lithuanian artists either did not show up at all or refused to sing live in front of the jury. Mr Vilimas announced that the Lithuanian final will be held in February.
