The OGAE Denmark annual meeting was held on Saturday the 20th of October in Amager, Copenhagen and was attended by aproximately 35 members. Tomas Thordarson and Annette Heick were invited to attend the meeting as VIP guests. The Danish fans got the chance to meet the stars and enjoy their performances. OGAE Denmark was formed back in 1989 by the Danish Eurovision fans, today it has more than 110 members. The Danish Eurovision fan club held their annual meeting recently in Amager, Copenhagen with many surprisesfor its members. A total of around 35 members were gathered under the same roof from 2pm to 2 am enjoying music, drinks and dancing. VIP guests Annette Heick and Thomas Thordarson were invited to attend the meeting and share their experiences with the fans.
The club invited its members to elect their president and treasurer. Mr. Jacob Holm Laursen was re -elected as the OGAE Denmark president. Jacob is well known both among Danish and European Eurovision fans as he organized a rocking Eurovision party during the Congratulations week in Copenhagen, Denmark. Jacob has gained respect and recognition thanks to his devotion, diligence and hard work. Kristian L.G. Nielsen was elected as the treasurer of OGAE Denmark, he happens to be the creator and webmaster of the official OGAE Denmark website.
Annette Heick who is well known among Danish Eurovision fans for her participation at the Danish Eurovision national finals Dansk Melodi Grand Prix in 1991 and then again in 2007 with her song Copenhagen Airport was invited to the meeting. She shared her experiences wih the fans and expressed her wish to compete in the Danish finals again. Annette treated the guests with songs from her latest album along with some Dolly Parton melodies. She performed an acoustic version of Copenhagen Airport'
Another guest attending the meeting was the 2004 Danish Eurovisionrepresentative Tomas Thordarson. Tomas was accompanied by his band G-Rough and was able to show off his vocal skillsby singing songs and melodies composed by him and his band. He performed for an hour entertaining the Danish fans to the best of Danish music, interacting with the audience and inviting them to take the dance floor. Last and not least he sang his Eurovision entry Shame On You.
The members discussed the future of the club and were updated with the latest Eurovision news. After dinner the fans were invited to take part in quizzgames, followed by a karaoke and a disco where thetheydanced away to Eurovision tunes. Comedy act Sys was invited to entertain the guests with her Eurovision stories and her so called experiences.
