Lina Jurevičiūtė first Lithuanian JESC entrant

Lithuania will make its debut in Junior Eurovision Song Contest this year with Lina Jurevičiūtė, the 13-year-old girl from Kaunas who has won the Lithuanian national final held this morning.

Lina will defend the Lithuanian colours in Rotterdam with the song Kai miestas snaud�ia (When the city is sleeping),a song about Friday. Her candidature was supported by most of the televoters and by the jury, as the final decision was the result of 50% televoting and 50% jury.

Lina- a Eurovision fan who was present this year in Helsinki-is well known in Lithuania having participated in many festivals both locally and abroad (USA, Germany, Bulgaria, Estonia and Russia). This is not the first achievement for her, last year she won a show aired on LRT called Mazuju zvaigzdziu ringas apart from her other awards in several countries.

The running order of the songs performed this morning was:

1. Austėja �virblytė and Goda Misevičiūtė – Liksime vaika (Will stay kids)
2. Evelina Milkauskaitė – Didelės svajonės (Big dreams) (delegated by LRT)
3. Greta Razmislavičiūtė – Nykštukai (Gnomes)
4. Trio "GIG" – Draugystės daina (A frieds' song)
5. Trio "Tikros" – Mintys (Thaughts)
6. Lina Jurevičiūtė – Kai miestas snaud�ia (When the city's sleeping)
7. Miglė Šidlauskaitė – Noriu (I wanna)
8. Monika Valiuškytė – Aš noriu šokti (I wanna dance)
9. Monika Linkytė – Vaikystės pasaka (A childhood's fairytale)
10. Lukas Gedvilas – Vaikystės daina (A childhood's song)
11. Evelina Bučinskaitė – Čia ir dabar (Right here, right now)
12. Urtė – Saulė (The sun)

The jury comprised Rosita Civilyte – a singer, Eurovision NF participant in 2001, Darius Uzkuraitis – Eurovision commentator, Samas – one of LT United members, Laurynas Sarkinas – member of Saules Kliosas (Eurovision NF 2002, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007) and Deivis – pop-soprano singer.
