Michael Leonard won the second vote of You're a star, the Irish selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2003. He will be one of the twelve contestants in the final. Nine finalists will be chosen by votes, three will get a wild card.

Leonard performed REM's Everybody Hurts. He received an overwhelming 38% of the televoting and finished ahead of second placed Terry Keeley who finished with 19%. The part-time entertainer made such an impression on the judges that they requested him to perform his piece a second time. Next week the final comes from Dundalk.

The winner of the You're a star final will represent Ireland at the Eurovision Song Contest 2003 in Riga. The winner of the first edition was Azi Jegbefume.
