Cyprus will select it’s 2015 Eurovision entry this coming Sunday, 1 February. In this special article we are going to be introducing all of the 6 competing acts.

Hovig

Born on the 3 January 1989 in the city of Nicosia, Hovig Demirijan is a Cypriot singer of Armenian origin.

Hovig first got into music at the age of 6 when he took his first guitar lessons where he later went on to take part in a number of school theatre productions. Hovig joined the European Conservatory of Music in Cyprus at the age of 12 and later went on to study jazz at the University of Nicosia.

In 2009, Hovig took part in the second series of The X Factor Greece where he competed alongside former Eurovision participants Eleftheria Eleftheriou (Greece 2012) and Ivi Adamou (Cyprus 2012). Hovig was eliminated in week 10 of the competition where he finished in 7th position.

Hovig participated in the Cypriot national final for the Eurovision Song Contest in 2010. With his entry Goodbye, Hovig finished in 3rd position where Jon Lilygreen & The Islanders went on to win the national final.

Hovig is currently participating in the 2015 Cypriot national selection Eurovision Song Project with his entry Stone in a river.
