Deborah Bough

Take me back to 23

Born on April 6th to a Swiss mother and a Caribbean father, Deborah’s love for music began when she was 3 years old. At this age she composed her first melody and at 6 years old she was a soloist for the local church choir for children.

When completing her Literature and Languages studies in France, Deborah began touring as singer by performing at churches, birthday parties and weddings. At 21, and now playing the guitar, she left to go to New York to pursue a career in the American music industry. Although it did not work out how she would have hoped, New York was a big learning curve for Deborah.

I soon begun to realize how different was that reality compared to the one I was coming from. There I lived the life of average Americans. I worked their jobs, listened to their stories, struggled like them and with them. During my journey I remember some people telling me that “New York either makes you or breakes you”; well, somehow it does both, so I called my self Orpheline. When I went home, I recorded my first album and toured all over Switzerland. I experienced the glitter, the sparkle, the flash lights, and a window of fame. I met famous people, great people, I experienced the adrenaline, the anxiety, the excitement of being on stage and sharing with fans. – Deborah Bough

Following on from a successful tour in Switzerland, Deborah studied Science Communication at Università della Svizzera Italiana in 2011 and was amongst the final 12 candidates in The of Switzerland in 2013.

Deborah will be singing Take me back to 23 in the Swiss national final.

Hello my name is Daniel Doyle. I am 19 years old and I live in Rushden, United Kingdom. My first Eurovision was in 2004 where I was given permission by my parents to stay up late to watch the contest. Since then I have been a hardcore fan. The first Eurovision I went to was in 2010 and I hope to go to more in the near future.
