Lithuania: Milita Daikerytė withdraws from Eurovizija 2015

LRT, the Lithuanian national broadcaster has revealed that Milita Daikerytė has withdrawn from the Lithuanian national selection, Eurovizija 2015, due to illness.

Therefore, a total of 8 acts will compete in the fourth show of Eurovizja 2015 in a bid to represent their country at the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest in the host city of Vienna, Austria. 11 songs also currently remain in the selection.

Each week, the public vote for their favourite songs from the selection online via the LRT website. The song or songs which receive the least votes is then eliminated from the competition. Earlier this week, the song entry Say you love me received the least votes via the online platform and was therefore eliminated from the show.

The Lithuanian song entry for the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest will be selected on the 14 February, followed by the artist selection which will take place the week after on the 21 February. The full Eurovizija 2015 schedule can be found below.

Lithuania will compete in one of the two semi-finals on either the 19 or 21 May later this year. The exact semi-final in which Lithuania will partake will be decided on the 26 January when both the Host Insignia Ceremony and the Semi-final allocation draw will take place. Eurovizijas 2015 will continue this Saturday on the 24 January where 2 artists will be eliminated after a public/jury deliberation.
