Dima Bilan and Serebro, nominated in four categories each earlier this month, have been awarded with “Best debut” (Serebro), “Best song”, “Best Artist” and “Artist” of the year (Dima Bilan) in last night's MTV Russia Music Awards.
Yesterday night, October 4th, revealed the winners of the MTV RMA 2007. Nominated earlier ex-participants of Eurovision Song Contest Dima Bilan (Russia 2006) and Serebro (Russia 2007) in four categories were as follows:
Serebrowere nominated in the following four categories, all of them for their Eurovision entry Song #1 :
1.Best Pop project
2. Best Song
3. Best Debut
4. Best Video
Dima Bilanwas nominated in four categories:
1. Best Singer
2. Best Pop Project
3. Best Song (for his song Nevozmozhnoe Vozmozhno)
4. Artist of the year
Dima Bilan, who was the runner-up in Athens, left the event having collected 3 awards out ofhis four categories: "Best song" Nevozmozhnoe vozmozhno(Russian version for Lady Flame), "Best artist" and "Artist of the year". Serebro, the girl band who represented Russia in Helsinki earlier this yearwere awarded with "Best Debut". Koldun, who represented Belarus on Eurovision Song Contest 2007 in Helsinki, was also nominated for "Best Artist" but lost the award to Bilan.
Sergey Lazarev, who is heavily tipped to represent Russia in Belgrade, can also be found among the nominees in the Best Pop Project category, but made it in neither of them.
Another ex-participant of Russia Mumiy Troll (Russia 2001) took part in the event last night. In 1998 the broadcasting of Russian MTV channelwas launchedwith a video clip for Mumiy Troll’s single Vladivostok 2000. Nine years later theband is the first again,this timeopening the ceremony of the Russia Music Awards 2007. Mumiy Trollperformed several songs from the new AMBA album as well as that very first single that once kicked off the Russian MTV. The band was awarded with a special prize "MTV Legend"
