Verka's French flip and flop

At the beginning of August, the CD single of the 2007 Ukrainian Eurovision Song Contest entry was released in France, supported by a big promotional campaign on private TV channel M 6. French Eurovision fans, who rarely see Eurovision songs released in France, were delighted. Whilst the single went on to be a success, the flip side of the story is that the album flopped.

Verka's album fell from the charts after only three weeks in the Top 200, reaching its best place on the first week, at number 105. The CD single, however, spent two weeks in the top 10, entered the Top100 chart at number six (August 12th), slipping to 7th place a week later. The song remains in the charts at 38th place, having slipped through places 16, 24, 28 and 33 over the last few weeks.
