He was part of the group Gemini who sang Da-li-dou at the 1978 Eurovision Song Contest and he was back in 1982 and 1985 as a composer for Doce and Adelaide Ferreira. His name is Tózé Brito and he is currently celebrating 40 years in the music industry.

These events were just some of the milestones in the career of Tózé Brito (who's full name is António José Correia de Brito). He started as a singer but his most recognizable works are as composer and lyricist. He participated 12 times in a 15-year period in Festival da Canção, the Portuguese national final. He was the mastermind behind the creation of first girl-band in Portugal: Doce. The group took the Portuguese pop scene by storm in the eighties.

He worked with such artists as Adelaide Ferreira and José Cid and other “big” names in the Portuguese music scene, creating many hits, which have sold millions of copies so far. A double-cd has been released and contains 40 of his greatest hits.

Tózé Brito is currently the C.E.O. for Universal Music in Portugal and one of the judges at a reality show called Family superstar where family members compete as singers. You can hear the songs here (the website is only in Portuguese; at the top there is a jukebox)

The group Gemini finished 17th in Paris, Doce placed 13th in Harrogate and Adelaide Ferreira came 18th in Gothenburg.
