Slovenia: Alenka Gotar is dancing

Alenka Gotar, the opera singer who represented Slovenia in the 2007 Eurovision Song Contest, is currently participating in the popular dance show on Slovenian TV, Stars are dancing. The multi talented lady won the first round by a landslide beating another EMA finalist, Frai Toni from Atomik Harmonik.

In each Stars are dancing show, two pairs, consisting of a Slovenian celebrity and a professional dancer each, compete in ballroom dancing. This week, Alenka Gotar together with Matja� Brinovec danced the salsa and beat Frai Toni from Atomik Harmonik (EMA 2006 finalist) who danced swing together with Petra Škofic. The televoters sent Alenka and Matja� to this month's final with 1.271 votes, while Frai Toni and Petra got only 111 votes.

Alenka, who placed 15th in the 2007 Eurovision Song Contest, iscurrentlyworking on a free-lance basis as a guest in the SNG Opera and Ballet in Ljubljana and as a teacher of singing. She has also recorded a new song to be released soon.
