Selma, the Icelandic singer who has participated in the Eurovision Song Contest twice and who brought Iceland its best result to date -second place in 1999 with All Out Of Luck – has seen her first song get a UK single release.

Her duet with the Icelandic tenor (Gardar Thor) Cortes All I Know of Love has been released as the bonus track on the Cortes single Hunting High and Low, itself released to mark the 21st anniversary of the original version by the 1980s Norwegian boyband A-ha – fronted by Morten Harket who co-presented the 1996 Eurovision Song Contest final.

All I know of love is written by David Foster and Linda Thompson – Linda wrote the lyrics for Selma's second Eurovision entry in 2005 If I had your love. Cortes himself is no stranger to Eurovision either, having co-presented the final of the 2006 Icelandic preselection or Söngvakeppni Sjónvarpsins. The new single has been released to support the UK charity Shelter's work with the homeless and badly-housed children and is a product of Believer Music Ltd headed by music empresario Einar Bardarson. Einar wrote Iceland's 2001 Eurovision entry Angel – or Birta in its original Icelandic version – and is one of the Icelandic Pop Idol judges along with their 1997 Eurovision entrant Paul Oscar.

Hunting high and low is from Cortes' second album which recently soared back to number 2 in the UK classical albums charts which he topped following the album's release in April, keeping Luciano Pavarotti off the top!

Thanks to Johnny Logan and Hold me now I fell in love with the Eurovision Song Contest, a love that's been going strong ever since with undiminished passion. My first memories date back to 1977 and the lyrics of Rock bottom, Dschinghis Khan and A ba ni bi are still engraved in my brain.

I joined esctoday.com in 2006 as a junior editor after being invited by Barry Viniker, I soon became Senior Editor and during the 2007 contest in Helsinki I was appointed Head of Communications. Today I hold the post of Head of Human Resources and I am proud to be working with the best editorial team in the world.
