Eurovizijos has proven to be a very successful format in Lithuania as it attracted a lot of viewers and interest during the 2014 season. Last year, the selection was extended due to public demand and high tv ratings.
Lithuania debuted at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1994 and is yet to win the event. The country’s best placing at Europe’s favourite television show was in 2006 when LT United achieved a 6th placing in the Eurovision Song Contest final in Athens.
Last year, Vilija Matačiūnaitė was selected to represent Lithuania with song Attention after she won Eurovizijos 2014. In Copenhagen, Vilija received 36 points in the semi-final, failing to qualify to the grand final.
