A month ago the Latvian broadcaster LTV said that they still examined the possibility to use an orchestra. Today, LTV representative Ilona Berzina told to esctoday.com that there won't be an orchestra at the upcoming contest.

In 1998 we saw the orchestra for the last time at the Eurovision Song Contest. Since 1999 the orchestra was too expensive for the host broadcaster and it became difficult to use it, because more and more songs can hardly be played live.

Every year there is a small hope among Eurovision Song Contest fans that the orchestra will return, but now the contest without orchestra reached it's fifth anniversary it becomes more and more unlikely we will ever see an orchestra at the contest again.
