Sabrina , who represented Portugal at the 2007 Eurovision Song Contest, will be releasing her first album until the end of the year. The album will include two medley mixes of older Portuguese Eurovision entries.
All the songs were recorded this week and will follow the music style of “Dança Comigo”. The songs will be mainly pop and latin flavoured. There will also be two medley mixesof former Portuguese entriesincluding Sobe, sobe balão sobe (1979), Playback (1981) and Conquistador (1989). The date for the CD to hit the stores is yet to be set.
Sabrina will be the first singer in many years to release an album following their participation in the Eurovision Song Contest. She was picked in a casting specifically to sing the song produced by Emanuel, who had been invited by RTP to take part at Festival da Canção. During the summer she performed in various concerts where she was warmly welcomed by the audiences.
Emanuel, the producer behind all the songs, is one of the biggest selling artists in Portugal. The album that shot him tofame sold around 500 thousand copies. The debut single Pimba, pimba was such a hit that “portuguese schlager” was from then on called “pimba”. Emanuel celebrates, in 2007, his 20th anniversary as an artist.
Sabrina came 11th in the Semi-final in Helsinki, just three points away from reaching the Final.
