OGAE Luxemburg's first convention has started to attract attention inside and outside the European mini state. RTL, the Luxembourgish broadcaster, will be running an interview with OGAE chairman Eric Lehmann on the event, a number of local politicians will be attending the event and fans from over 10 countries have already confirmed their participation.

OGAE Luxembourg are holding their first convention on 22 September, at the Kulturschapp Cultural Center. Many politicians and members of the local press have been invited and OGAE Luxembourg hope to raise enough attention so that the national broadcaster considers reentering the Eurovision Song Contest. It is interesting that RTL will be running an interview with the club's chairman, Eric Lehmann on the occasion of the convention.

Anne-Marie David (winner of the 1973 contest) and Simone Weis (1993) will be performing on the night. Eurofans from the UK, France, Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, Slovenia, Poland, Sweden, Spain and the Netherlands have confirmed their participation.

There will be a big singing competition-open to all- with drag queens, dancers and singers, where the best act will be voted by the audience. Anyone wishing to participate can contact Eric Lehmann at [email protected].

Admission costs €15 and all proceeds will be donated to the AIDS organisation in Luxembourg.

Thanks to Johnny Logan and Hold me now I fell in love with the Eurovision Song Contest, a love that's been going strong ever since with undiminished passion. My first memories date back to 1977 and the lyrics of Rock bottom, Dschinghis Khan and A ba ni bi are still engraved in my brain.

I joined esctoday.com in 2006 as a junior editor after being invited by Barry Viniker, I soon became Senior Editor and during the 2007 contest in Helsinki I was appointed Head of Communications. Today I hold the post of Head of Human Resources and I am proud to be working with the best editorial team in the world.
