Christer Björkman aka Mr Melodifestival celebrated his 50th birthday last Saturday with a big star studded party.

Christer Björkman, producer of one of the most popular national preselections in Europe, was born on August 25th, 1957 in Borås outside Gothenburg. He represented – rather unsuccessfully- Sweden in the 1992 Eurovision Song Contest and tried twice more in 1993 and 1999 by participating in the Swedish preselections.

Since 2002 he has been higly involved in the Swedish national selection and has introduced the current format of Melodifestivalen with the semi finals in different cities.

Christer celebrated his 50th birthday with a big party which was attended by many well known Swedish artists.
