Will Sergey  Lazarev fly to Vienna in 2015? Russian superstar has released his latest single Breaking Away on Itunes Russia yesterday.

Sergey Lazarev is one of the hot favorites among Eurovision fans to represent Russia at the Eurovision Song Contest. His name sounds every year as a potential Russian Eurovision representative according to the rumour mill.

The Russian star released his brand new single Breaking Away yesterday- a 3 minutes track, which fits in exactly with the rules and regulations of an Eurovision entry. A Eurovision entry has to be maximum 3 minutes long. The song has also been released in Greece and Cyprus, thus getting an international release.

One more anecdote regarding Breaking Away is that the song has been produced by none other than Dimitris Kontopoulous the man behind many Eurovision entries ( Ukraine 2008, Greece 2009, Azerbaijan 2013, Russia 2014). Kontopoulos has composed many hit songs both in Greece and overseas and is among the most sought after composers and producers in Greece today.

It has been reported that Breaking Away’s official videoclip has been filmed in Crete, Greece specifically at the Elhounda Penisula Hotel. Sergey Lazarev chose the Elounda SA Hotels & Resorts in order to shoot the official videoclip of Breaking Away. The main locations of the videoclip where the terrace and the presidential suite of the Elounda Peninsula All Suite Hotel , the Water Sports Center of Porto ELounda Golf & Spa Resort, the jetties of the Elounda Mare Hotel and the multi awarded Six Senses Spa.

The video clip will feature the famous Greek actress and Bond girl  Tonia Sotiropoulou, who among others also had a role in the James Bond movie Skyfall. The video clip is expected to premire on all major Russian music and television channels by the end of the year.

 

Sergey Lazarev is among Russia’s most acclaimed male singers today. He has been nominated many times for Best Male Singer at the Russian MUZ TV Awards. In 2011 he won the MUZ TV Best Album of the Year Award. Sergey tried to compete at the Eurovision Song Contest back in 2008 with the song Flyer but was beaten by Dima Bilan and his song Believe.

Sergey Lazarev is a multi talented artist who enjoys name, fame and glory both at home in Russia and overseas. Sergey is a well known presenter, dancer and singer. He has hosted and co presented The NewWave Song Festival in Jurmala many times. He is among the most sought after artists in his homeland.

Will Sergey represent Russia at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2015? Many fans will be more than happy to see him represent Russia at Europe’s favourite television show.

C1 Russia, the broadcaster resposible for the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest in Russia has not made any announcement regarding the 2015 Russian Eurovision project. Hence we have to wait and see if Sergey will be the one representing Russia Vienna!
