Georgia: National final on 14 January

GPB, the Georgian national broadcaster has announced today that it will opt for a national selection in order to select its Eurovision act and entry for the forthcoming 2015 Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna.

The 2015 Georgian national final is scheduled to be held in Tblisi on 14 January. Artists wishing to compete in the national final can do so by sending their applications to the Georgian broadcaster as of today until 20 December. The 2015 Georgian entry will be selected via a public voting/international jury deliberation.

Soloists and groups from across Georgia can take part in the competition. Applicants are asked to send in their songs from their repertoire (audio version), a photo and CV to the address below.

In 2014 GPB selected Mariko Ebralidze and The Shin via an internal selection with their entry Three minutes to Earth. The Georgian hopefuls failed to qualify to the grand finale in Copenhagen, despite a fun loving performance.

Georgia debuted at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2007 with Sopho Khalvashi‘s Visionary Dream. The country is yet to win the event and their  best placing at the contest has been a 9th place in 2010 with Sopho Nizharadze‘s Shine and in 2011 with Eldrine‘s One more day.

The 2015 Eurovision Song Contest is scheduled to be held on 19, 21, 23 May at the Wiener Stadthalle, in Vienna.
