Marija Serifovic, this year's Eurovision Song Contest winner, is taking matters into her own hands as far as Serbia's next representative in the contest is concerned. She is organizing a competition for young Serbian talents, whose winner will enter the next edition of Beovizija with a song penned and composed by Marija herself.

Sasa Markovic, the director of Beoton and the singer's manager has announced that together with Marija Serifovic they have decided to launch a competition next month to give one talented artist the opportunity to participate in this year's Beovizija. An audition will be held in September and the winner will enter the Serbian national final with a song created 100% by Marija herself.

In an interiew with Blic, Mr Markovic confirmed that Marija was indeed approached by the Swiss for a possible participation next year but she declined in order to "use her influence to find the young talented people to be the representatives of our country".

Currently, Marija is working on her next album which will be in English and which – according to her management- will be released by Warner Music towards the end of October for the UK, and also by Heaven in Greece and the Russian national company in Russia. The songs are currently being arranged at the ABBA studio in Sweden and post-production will take place in New York.

Thanks to Johnny Logan and Hold me now I fell in love with the Eurovision Song Contest, a love that's been going strong ever since with undiminished passion. My first memories date back to 1977 and the lyrics of Rock bottom, Dschinghis Khan and A ba ni bi are still engraved in my brain. I joined esctoday.com in 2006 as a junior editor after being invited by Barry Viniker, I soon became Senior Editor and during the 2007 contest in Helsinki I was appointed Head of Communications. Today I hold the post of Head of Human Resources and I am proud to be working with the best editorial team in the world.
