With the Cypriot national selection set to begin its broadcast at the start of next month, the Cypriot national broadcaster CyBC has began their rehearsals this week in the city of Nicosia.
Antri Karantoni, who was unveiled as the host of the 2015 Cypriot national selection earlier this year, along with the jury members have all been busy with rehearsals this week with filming set to begin in due course. Below are some photos taken during rehearsals.
The first Cypriot audition show is set to be broadcast next month starting on the 7 December. During the shows, a total of 60 acts will audition in front of the 4 jury members – Alex Panayi, Despina Olympiou, Elena Patroklou and Tasos Trifonos – where they will bid for a place in the next round of the contest. Christer Bjorkman and Dimitris Kontopoulos will then join the jury panel during the Eurochallenge stage of the contest whilst Bruno Berberes will join the panel for the grand final. Cypriot national selection 2015 format
- 7 televised audition shows – 60 acts in total.
- 2 televised Eurochallenge shows – 20 acts in total.
- 1 Grand final show – 6 acts in total.
During the grand final of the selection which will take place on the 1 February, the 2015 Cypriot entry will be decided via a 50/50 public-jury deliberation.
Among the 60 participating acts this year include 8 British Cypriot singers – Anastasia Liberos, Lucy Sofroniou, Yiannis Karayiannis, Constantinos Karaiskos, Kyriacos Georgiou, Maria Evangelou, Ioanna Protopapa and Iphigenia Loucaidou featuring Lyrical Eye.
