Greta Koçi for Albania 2008?

Greta Koçi, winner of “Top Fest 4”, and participant of the Albanian national final, Festivali I Këngës 2006 with the song , has told Revista Albaniac in an interview that she plans to represent Albania in the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest to be held in Belgrade.

Greta came 5th in the last Festivali I Këngës with the song Eja Zemër, and has since had many hits in Albania, as well as performing in Kosovo, Montenegro and FYR Macedonia, where she has a large number of fans.

In an interview with an Albanian website, Greta said that she's aiming to represent her country in the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest, in an attempt to qualify Albania to the final for the first time since 2005.

Albanian singer Soni, who hosted Festivali I Këngës 2005 and was eliminated in the semi fianls of Festivali I Këngës 2004 with the song "Eja Në Balkan", has also claimed to be working on a song for this year's Festivali I Këngës, to be held in late December.

Whoever represents Albania in Belgrade will have to start in the semi final due to Fredrik Ndoci's 17th place in the 2007 semi final.
