In 2003 they won the very first edition of Eurosong for Kids in Belgium. Four years later Jonas, Thomas, Niels and Philip from X!nk are back in the Belgian Junior Eurovision Song Contest selections. Not as participants, but with the theme song of Junior Eurosong 2007, Belgium's national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest's junior show.
"VRT invited us to write the theme song,and because VRT supported us so much a couple of years ago, we wanted to do something in return." the boys of X!nk explain in an interview with our partner website www.belgovision.com.
X!nk succeeds Gene Thomas, who wrote the theme song of Eurosong for Kids in 2006. Four years after their song, De Vriendschapsband competed at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Copenhagen, it is still is the most successful Belgian entry at the competition. "Of course that makes us proud! It was great because we received points from every country" the say.
Three of the four X!nk members have now also reached the minimum age for taking part in the real Eurovision Song Contest. Will we ever see X!nk at Eurosong? "I do not think so, but you never know of course" lead singer Jonas says. Then who should Belgium send to the Eurovision Song Contest 2008 in Belgrade? "That is a difficult question! I think I would send Eddy Wally to Belgrade. He would really catch the eyes and maybe score well too!"
