The EuroCallatis 2007 Festival started last Monday in Mangalia, Romania. The 9th edition of this music event is taking place on a boat specifically transformed in a stage.

This brand new edition of the Festival is strongly linked to the entrance of Romania in the European Community. As a result, the festival, that takes place for the last 10 years, has been renamed to Euro-Callatis Festival. The budget of the show has reached the amount of 500.000 euros and it is considered one of the most expensive events in Romania. It is a marathon show that lasts 7 days and it is all about the promotion of the Romanian culture and music all over Europe.

The concerts that take place every single night include more than 100 Romanian and International artists such as 3rei Sud Est, Nicola (Romania 2002), Todomondo(Romania 2007), Directia 5(Romanian NF 2005), Daniela Condurache, Veta Biris, Nicolas Cantaro & Andra, Loredana, Anna Lesko, Simplu, Rednex & Ro-mania(Romanian National Final 2007), Felicia Filip & K1, No Mercy, Akcent(Romanian NF 2006), Taxi, Simplu, DJ Project, Activ, Fly Project and many more.

For the first time ever the show takes place in two different places, one is in Mangalia on the boat that has been transformed into a stage and the other is where Romanian Diaspora exist. Callatis Eurotur is a tour thatstarted in France and it will continue its journey in Italy, Austria, Germany and Belgium. Every night they broadcast messages from Romanians that live in those countries. On 13th of July, the show will be directly transmitted for 3 hours from Rome while the two shows will be live from Antenna 1 channel and Antenna international.
There will also be some nights that are specially organised for the event such as “Fabrica de stele”(Star factory), “Cocktail Callatis”. The last day of the festival, Sunday the 15th of July, will also take place the “Miss Diaspora” beauty contest and the show called “Callatis intre IX and X”(Callatis from the 9th to the 10th (edition).
The show can be watched live every afternoon at 20:45 local time on Antenna 1 International.
